Deal document sets out devolution benefits
5 January 2016
The benefits of devolution for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire are set out in detail as the deal document is published for the first time today.
The deal document, which sets out the preferred negotiating position of the Council and business leaders, was sent to Chancellor George Osborne and Secretary of State for Communities Greg Clark shortly before Christmas with a strong message that “now is the time to do the deal”.
Some of the benefits that devolution would deliver include 55,000 new jobs, 77,000 extra homes and a 30-year investment fund.
