Update on sale of Civic Centre

16 June 2016

Rushcliffe Borough Council took the decision in July 2015 to market the Civic Centre on Pavilion Road for disposal on a freehold basis, as it will be moving to new purpose-built offices at the new Rushcliffe Arena site.

Several offers for the Civic Centre were received and at the Cabinet Meeting on 14 June, the Cabinet agreed to proceed with one of the offers and dispose of the Civic Centre as surplus to requirements.

The sale will be subject to vacant possession of the Council-occupied parts of the building.

The timescale for completion of the sale of the freehold is expected to be by the end of March 2017.

Once the Council has exchanged contracts with the purchaser and is in a position to share the name of the prospective purchaser, it will do so. We anticipate that this is likely to be by September 2016.
