Recognising Rushcliffe Awards winners

Massive congratulations to all of the winners (and runners up) in the Recognising Rushcliffe Awards, which took place last night, 16 November.
And the winners are:
•Enabling the Community Award – sponsored by Handelsbanken.
Winner was the successful Facebook page Ruddington Mums Community Group.
•Supporting the Local Economy Award – sponsored by KH Hair.
Marketing expert Shamshad Walker received the award for her work in the business community.
•Rushcliffe Food and Drink Establishment Award – sponsored by Michael Wisher Hospitality.
Plumtree Fish and Chips won this award after 18 years of service to the community,
•Rushcliffe Hero Award – sponsored by Trent Barton.
This category was won by Mel Roper, the woman behind the popular East Leake Carnival.
•Good deeds Award - sponsored by Streetwise.
The volunteer drivers at the affordable transport service run by Rushcliffe Community and Voluntary Service were honoured in this category.
•Young Achiever Award – sponsored by The White Horse Inn.
23 year old Olympic hopeful Hannah Stevenson was the winner - she's recently been selected for the British Bobsleigh and Skeleton developmental squad.
•Supporting Young People Award – sponsored by Central College.
Nottingham Rushcliffe Athletic Club took the award for their work with youngsters in Rushcliffe.
•Pride of Rushcliffe Award – sponsored by Rushcliffe Borough Council.
The winner of this top award was Lila Skirving of Langar Hall Hotel, who took over running the famous hotel after her grandmother passed away unexpectedly in June.
