Online payments system upgrade
12 January 2018
On 15 February 2018, we will update our online payments system. This means that we no longer support old operating systems and web browsers and you will need to upgrade if you want to continue making payments to the Council online.
Changes to the Payment Card Industry
Our payments system will be upgraded in line with changes in the Payment Card Industry to make it more secure for you to make payments.
This means that you won’t be able to pay online if you are using an older version of a web browser (such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Safari) or an older operating system (such as Microsoft Windows or MAC OS).
The changes affect the global payment card industry so you may experience similar issues when making payments on other websites too.
Will I be affected?
The issue mostly affects people using an operating system older than Windows 7 (such as XP or Vista) or older than iOS 7 on an iPad or iPhone. Some older versions of Android may also be affected.
The following browsers will also be affected:
Chrome – old than version 30
Android – older than version 4.4
Firefox – older than version 24
Internet explorer – older than version 11
Opera – older than version 17
Safari – older than version 7 and OSX10.9
Safari mobile – older than IOS 5
Please note this is not an exhaustive list.
What should I do if I’m affected?
If you believe you may be affected, please update your web browser or your operating system if you can, or try accessing the form on a different device.
We don't believe this issue will affect a significant number of people.
If you need help and advice, please visit your browser’s website or your local computer shop.
