Planning and Building

If you are a new start-up business or an established business seeking to develop your business premises, you may need to apply to the council for planning permission. Permission may be required when building new premises, extending existing buildings or changing the use of existing premises. Decisions are made in accordance with the Council’s planning policies and government guidance.

Remember, whether or not your building project requires planning permission you will still need to comply with Building Regulations.

For further guidance on the planning permission for businesses please see the GOV.UK website.
