We have great transportation links. A number of important roads pass through the Borough. The A46 links Rushcliffe to Newark to the north and Leicester to the south, the A52 links to Grantham to the east and the A453 is a major route linking Nottingham and Rushcliffe to East Midlands Airport Parkway Station and the M1.
The NET tram extension to Clifton will pass through the Borough at Wilford and Compton Acres, with the aim of improving accessibility to the City Centre.
At Rushcliffe we are always looking outwards – playing a big part in the widening of the A46 and A453 to reduce congestion, improving transportation links, encouraging growth and jobs. This has been seen by many as extremely valuable for the future economic growth of the city.
The Borough Council is right behind the plans to improve this major arterial road into the
Borough, and was delighted when work started for real earlier this year. We’ve invested £½m to ensure the improvements are delivered, which will mean reduced congestion, less pollution and a better transport link to the M1 and beyond.
