Positive about apprenticeships

‘Growing our own’ is a theme that we believe is not only good for our apprentices – it really does add real value to our organisation. We feel we have a valuable contribution to make in terms of young people achieving their potential. We have been able to successfully help young people start their working lives by offering apprenticeships in a number of areas across the council. In recent years, we have offered apprenticeships in Horticulture, Environment and Waste Management, IT and HGV Technician.

We offer great training and jobs that ‘make a difference’ to the people of Rushcliffe.

All our apprenticeships are advertised on our current vacancies page. You can also visit the National Apprenticeship organisation or see all our jobs on the East Midlands jobs portal.

Apprenticeships can take between one and two years to complete. Permanent jobs are not guaranteed at the end of the training, however we have in the past been able to do so where suitable vacancies have existed.

Our workforce is currently under-represented in the 16-18 year age-group and we will be reviewing offering apprenticeships for older candidates in the future.
