Active Rushcliffe

The Active Rushcliffe Partnership was established in 2009 and is a community sports network of local partners all working together to provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get actively involved in sport and physical activity.  Active Rushcliffe consists of the following core members:

  • Central College
  • Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club – Community Sports Trust
  • Parkwood Leisure (Bingham LC, Cotgrave LC, Keyworth LC, Rushcliffe LC, Rushcliffe Arena)
  • Rushcliffe Borough Council
  • Rushcliffe School Sports Partnership
  • Serco Leisure
  • Sport Nottinghamshire
  • Carillion PLC (East Leake LC)

There are a number of strategic influences which have shaped the formation of the group’s action plan, including Rushcliffe Borough Council's Corporate Strategy, Sport England's ‘Creating a sporting habit for life - a new youth sport strategy', Nottinghamshire Health and Wellbeing Strategy, Rushcliffe Health Partnership Action Plan and the Nottinghamshire Child Poverty Strategy. The objectives of this plan are:

Objective 2 Better transition from school to club, college, university, work and beyond
Objective 3 Year on year growth in adult participation
Objective 4 Increase participation by disabled people (all ages)
Objective 5 Develop the local infrastructure of clubs and coaches
