Please tell me whether the council has undertaken any tree planting schemes as part of its work to tackle climate change and/or help reach net zero or improve air quality.

Response
Rushcliffe Borough Council has undertaken a number of tree planting schemes, which all contribute to its Climate Change / Net zero targets, air quality targets and biodiversity targets:
- 1. Public Free Tree Scheme. Rushcliffe Borough Council provides free native trees to residents in Rushcliffe. In 2021/22, 1,200 total trees were supplied; of which 579 were Wild Cherry (Prunus avium) and 621 were Dogwood (Cornus sanguinea), these were delivered to 631 addresses.
- 2. Community Tree Scheme. Rushcliffe Borough Council provides and where requested plants and maintains trees for communities within Rushcliffe. In 2021/22 the council supplied/planted 161 trees to 14 parishes and communities.
- 3. Planting with the Rushcliffe Borough Council estate. Ongoing tree planting is carried out on the Rushcliffe Borough Council estate where possible. In 2021/22 Rushcliffe Borough Council planted / supported the planting of 190 Trees and Shrubs on its own estate.
