This is an information request relating to the cost of removing swastika graffiti.

Please include the information for each of the following periods; 2018-19; 2019-20; 2020-21; 2021-22:

• The number of graffiti swastikas removed by the council for each year
• The cost of removing the swastikas for each year

Response

We are not able to identify that type of graffiti without going into each individual report which would exceed the cost of compliance. We do record graffiti as either general, offensive or racial which we would be able to provide figures for but only from June 2019 as we changed the system we used to record incidents. We can get figures from the old system for the dates before June 2019 but it will be of all graffiti reported.

We can also only provide costs of all graffiti, as while it will be reported as offensive or racial, the removal of it comes from one pot and we can’t distinguish as to the costs based on different types.
