  1. Does the Council have a contract of any kind in place with any agency for the provision of temporary workers that fall into the category of Administration, catering, refuse collection, street cleaning?
  2. If yes to the above question, who is the contract with, when was the contract awarded and when does it expire?
  3. How much did the Council spend on agency workers falling into the category of Administration, catering, refuse collection & street cleaning for the period April 2022 to March 2023 & the period April 2023 to March 2024?
  4. Who would be responsible for awarding a temporary staffing contract for the aforementioned job categories for the Council, please could you confirm the name of the individual and their position and role within the organisation?

Frontline – contract commenced in September 2023 and is currently due to expire September 2025 with an option to extend for 3 years

  1. How much did the Council spend on agency workers falling into the category of Administration, catering, refuse collection & street cleaning for the period April 2022 to March 2023 & the period April 2023 to March 2024?

Administration: April 2022 to March 2023 – zero, April 2023 – March 2024 - zero

Catering: April 2022 to March 2023 – zero, April 2023 – March 2024 - zero

Refuse collection: April 2022 to March 2023 – £264,718.28, April 2023 – March 2024 - £239,812.72

Street cleaning: April 2022 to March 2023 – £6273.28, April 2023 – March 2024 - £56,615.77 

NB: April – August 2022, Street Cleaning was outsourced to an external contractor

  1. Who would be responsible for awarding a temporary staffing contract for the aforementioned job categories for the Council, please could you confirm the name of the individual and their position and role within the organisation?

Administration – Corporate Project Manager

Catering – Not applicable

Refuse collection and Street cleaning – Head of Environment and Communities
