I am writing to request information under EIR and FOI regarding the Combined Heat and Power reciprocating gas engine/s at any sites the council are responsible for including landfill sites.

  1. Engine Size and Specifications:
    - The make, model, and size of any engines currently in operation at site.
    - Technical specifications of these engines, including capacity and output.
  2. Estimated Remaining Life Term of the Engine:
    - The estimated remaining operational life of the engines based on current usage and servicing data.
  3. Plans for the Engine Post-Life Term:
    - Any documented plans for the engines at the end of their operational life, including whether there are plans to decommission, replace, overhaul or repurpose the engines.
  4. Current Contract End Dates for Servicing:
    - Who currently services the engines.
    - Length of service contract. Contract end date and when that contract will be reviewed.
  5. Responsibility for Long-Term Planning:
    - Details on which entity or organisation is responsible for the long-term planning and management of these engines, including the oversight of their eventual decommissioning or replacement.
  6. Permits/Certifications
    - List All permits and certifications required for the landfill site to be legally and environmentally compliant where it relates to the CHP setup. Include any reference numbers required or website links showing application approval of permits/certifications, or a link to where these permits/certifications can be show to be still current.

    - E90 Combined Heat and Power Unit 90 kwe. Engine Size – E122
    - Output 90 KW.
  2. Estimated Remaining Life Term of the Engine:
    - Assuming 15 years lifespan, this site has 7 years remaining
  3. Plans for the Engine Post-Life Term:
    - No yet been decided.
  4. Current Contract End Dates for Servicing:
    - Centrica.
    - Contract end date 15 August 2025.
  5. Responsibility for Long-Term Planning:
    - Rushcliffe Borough Council.
  6. Permits/Certifications
    - Not applicable.

Site 2 - Bingham Arena, Mercia Court, Chapel Lane, Bingham, Nottingham, NG13 8QX

  1. Engine Size and Specifications:
    - Helec Energimizer EM50 HNG
  2. Estimated Remaining Life Term of the Engine:
    - 18 years
  3. Plans for the Engine Post-Life Term:
    - Too early to say
  4. Current Contract End Dates for Servicing:
    - Helec. Managed by our leisure services operator, Parkwood leisure
    - Serviced every 2000 hours on a pay as you go basis.
  5. Responsibility for Long-Term Planning:
    - Rushcliffe Borough Council.
  6. Permits/Certifications
    - Not applicable.
