Response

  1. What are the maximum amount of bins/receptacles that are available for collection by the council (i.e. general waste bin, recycle bin, food bin, battery bin etc)? This includes bins that residents are charged extra fees to obtain.
The Council provides an alternate weekly collection service of both residual waste and dry recycling with residents able to opt in for a garden waste bin too. Therefore the maximum number of bins at a property could be up to 3 although some residents decide to have additional bins (residual, dry or garden) to meet capacity needs.
  2. Provide a list with the names of all the bins/receptacles available for collection by the council.
240 litre wheeled bins as above
  3. If the bin available for collection requires additional fees from a resident, please note the bin requiring fees.
Garden waste £45 for the first bin and £30 for any subsequent garden waste bin
  4. What is the average number of bins collected from a resident by the council?
As above the vast majority of our 50,000 households will have 1 residual and 1 dry recycling bin. A further 29,000 residents choose to subscribe to our garden waste bin and we empty around 33,000 garden waste bins every other week apart from a short break over the Xmas/New Year period
