Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Budget 2024/25
Our budget and your council tax
Council tax is one way we fund the work we do to create safer communities across Nottinghamshire and the City of Nottingham.
As your fire and rescue service, we do this in many different ways – through responding to incidents, working with people in the community and helping businesses stay safe from fire.
Over the last 12 months alone, we have attended over 10,000 incidents, conducted a record-breaking 14,000 safe and well visits, and carried out more than 1,000 business safety audits.
However, to keep doing this vital work, we need resources – with our people being our biggest asset. This can be a challenge when our financial position remains very uncertain – making it tough to plan for the future with only one-year funding settlements coming in from Central Government each year.
To help with these challenges, on Friday 23 February 2024 our Combined Fire Authority approved a council tax increase in the fire service precept – which works out at a £2.64 annual increase for a Band D property.
More information on the work we do to keep people safe can be found in our Community Risk Management Plan 2022-25.
