Support for vulnerable energy customers
The Citizens Advice consumer helpline can help if you are having problems with your energy supplier or you want impartial advice on switching suppliers. They also give advice for elderly and vulnerable consumers. Call 03454 04 05 06 or visit the Citizens Advice consumer helpline energy webpage.
Customers that are unable to top up their pre-payment meter are advised to contact their supplier immediately to discuss how they can be kept on supply. Ofgem recommends consumers leave the meter box unlocked if they need someone else to top up the meter. Smart meter customers should be able to top-up remotely, such as by phone, mobile application or online.
Energy advice and reducing your fuel bills

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO)
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a government energy efficiency scheme which has been set up to help reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty.
The government has not yet published the final guidance on the latest scheme ECO4 and until it does so we are not able to decide if the council should participate in the ECO4 Flex mechanism or publish a Statement of Intent. At this time we are not accepting applications for ECOFlex declarations
Rushcliffe Borough Council do not carry out any installations, this will need to be undertaken by an ECO registered company or your energy supplier. Visit the ECO website for further details.
To find home insulation installers or renewable energy products you could try Derbyshire County Council's Trusted Trader scheme or Checkatrade.com and find home insulation or renewable energy products.
