Reducing Your Carbon Footprint - Householders
Top tips for reducing your carbon footprint.
- Use the WWF Carbon Footprint tool to assess your current footprint and get tips on how to improve it
- Insulate your home. You may qualify for a grant to help you do this
- Switch your energy provider to one that offers 100% renewables
- Make sure you turn off any lights and appliances that are not being used
- If you can, ride a bike or walk to your destination rather than driving a car. Active travel is not only beneficial for the environment, it’s also good for you!
- Reduce, reuse and recycle your waste
- Take a reusable coffee cup and a water bottle with you when you go out
- Buy local food and eat seasonal produce. If you can grow your own! Have a look at our allotments and gardening page for further advice and information
- Shop Locally
