Consultation now open for planning application submitted for homes at Tollerton airfield
Last updated: 20/12/2024A consultation for one part of a planning application for new homes at the site of Tollerton Airfield is now open for views.
Additional information has been submitted by the applicants to Rushcliffe Borough Council and can be commented on at www.rushcliffe.gov.uk under application reference 20/03244/OUT and the deadline for comments is January 31, 2025.
Residents and stakeholders are reminded the Council has not adopted the masterplan for the wider site which will be out to consultation in 2025.
It has advised applicants across all the different parts of the site, it cannot determine applications until such time that a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) is in place, which is the masterplan for the site.
Planning officers are working positively with the consortium of landowners and developers for the development of this masterplan to ensure all public and community infrastructure is planned properly and to the highest standards, taking account of the needs of the new and existing communities.
This reconsultation follows the first submission in December 2020 for housing, a primary school, local centre and supporting infrastructure.
This application is for outline planning permission for the phased residential development that could see dwellings, a second primary school and supporting infrastructure such as open spaces and sports pitches.
There is a further planning application which was consulted upon earlier in 2024 and an area of land that does not form part of the two planning applications received, which could be for additional homes, community infrastructure, employment land, and a secondary school.
Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Planning and Housing Cllr Roger Upton said: “This latest consultation is a chance for all to give their views on this particular application of the possible development.
“We cannot determine any application for the site until the masterplan or SPD is in place.
“As with all applications of this nature we formally consult technical consultees, ward members, the relevant Parish Councils and local residents, all of whom now have the chance to comment on the proposals.”
