Rushcliffe Borough Council’s (RBC) ever popular Lark in the Park, sponsored by E.ON returns on Wednesday August 7 and is set to feature over 50 fantastic stalls and activities.

This year’s free event brings an array of attractions including an inflatable fun zone, soft play, storytelling and sports sessions, for young children and families to enjoy at Bridgford Park in West Bridgford from 10am to 4pm.

The event is themed around the Olympics and there will be a wide variety of sporting activities for children to take part in including sports day games, dancing, circus activities, cricket, football darts and more.

Children can also be entertained by sporty themed storytelling activities ‘Fairytale Gym’ and ‘Sporty Show-offs’ and free singing and dancing shows featuring Super Sparkle, Jo Jingles, Dynamique Dance and Joker Entertainment.

There will also be a range of free activities delivered by Nottingham Rugby, Edwalton Golf Club, National Ice Arena, Lex Leisure, West Bridgford Tennis Club and Via East Midlands.

Food and drink stalls will be available and event goers can visit a variety of charity and community stands.

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Wellbeing, ICT and Member Development Cllr Jonathan Wheeler said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming the thousands of families and children to Lark in the Park and we’re delighted to announce E.ON as lead event sponsors!

“It’s a fantastic, action-packed event that gives friends and families the opportunity to spend quality time together, enjoying a range of activities and entertainment and above all a fun-filled day!

Simon Duncan, Director of Energy Infrastructure Solutions at E.ON UK added: “At E.ON, we’re proud to be helping local residents in Rushcliffe reduce their energy bills and benefit from more efficient homes.

“Since 2022 alone, we’ve installed over 170 measures such as insulation, air source heat pumps and solar panels in more than 150 homes, as part of the Local Authority Delivery Scheme and Home Upgrade Grant Scheme.

“I’m delighted that E.ON is sponsoring Lark in the Park again this year, a fantastic event that brings the local community together.

“Our colleagues will be at the event to answer any questions people might have about the Home Upgrade Grant scheme as well as to join in the fun with some outdoor games.”

St Giles Preschool Manager Rosemary Walser said: “Each year we love coming to Lark in the Park, it’s great fun for all the kids and we play a lot of games.

“Look out for our stall this year where we have some fun games and be raffling off a special cricket bat signed by all the players at Nottinghamshire Cricket Club.”
