One week to go until Taste of Rushcliffe Food Festival on Saturday July 15!
Last updated: 10/1/2024Food lovers across Rushcliffe can enjoy delicious dishes and tasty treats from local food and drink businesses and enjoy live cookery demonstrations next Saturday July 15 as the Taste of Rushcliffe Food Festival returns to Central Avenue in West Bridgford.
Rushcliffe Borough Council’s free annual food festival takes place in the town from 10am to 4pm and all market traders will be open for business from 9am.
Throughout the day there will be live cookery demonstrations from professional chef Ben Harris and Vegetarian Rasoi’s Meena Hanspal presenting their crowd-pleasing tips and top recipes.
Visitors can explore a range of mouth-watering food and drink stalls such as Harker’s Farm and Brockleby’s Pies offering local produce, authentic recipes and signature dishes!
The Croquet Lawn will also have a hot street food picnic area featuring Indian, Caribbean, Thai and Middle Eastern cuisine with a fully licensed bar, live music and a DJ.
Children and young people can also participate in free activities and cookery classes making light bites such as summer couscous salad and mini Greek filled pitta breads and decorating cupcakes.
ABL Health will be hosting a smoothie bike, where children and adults alike can pedal their way to nutritious smoothies.
Cocktail fans and coffee connoisseurs can also join in with cocktail and coffee masterclasses delivered by The Parlour in West Bridgford, which coincides with West Bridgford Way’s exclusive coffee and cocktail trail running throughout July.
Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Transformation, Leisure and Wellbeing Cllr Jonathan Wheeler said: “We can’t wait for our Taste of Rushcliffe event which is just one week away! It shines a light on the talented local businesses that we are proud to have in the Borough.
“It’s a fantastic day out and eventgoers can discover top tips from live cooking shows and sample the wide range of food and drink options from bison to tasty pies, preserves and pastries and plenty more!
“There’s something for everyone, whether you want to tantalise your taste buds at the street market, top up your culinary skills at a food masterclass or head over to the kid’s cookery sessions.
“I encourage everyone to come down to Central Avenue for the event and explore the diverse food stalls, free activities throughout the day and soak up the atmosphere!”
Tracy Harker, from Harker's Farm Shop is delighted to be one of the family businesses showcasing their local produce at the event.
She said: “The team at Harker’s Farm are looking forward to being part of this fantastic event!
“We're a traditional farmers and butchers producing our own beef and lamb here on the farm in Clipston On The Wolds.
“As an independent and local family business, this food festival is a great opportunity to highlight our products in the centre of West Bridgford.

As part of Taste of Rushcliffe’s celebration of food and drink, West Bridgford Way has launched its coffee and cocktail trail.
Buy a coffee or cocktail from each of the following participating businesses in the town and receive 50% off a drink at your choice of venue:

Loyalty cards will be available to collect at any of the participating venues until Monday July 31.
