RBC’s annual ‘Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards working with E.ON’ returns

Last updated: 29/11/2023

Community heroes across the Borough will be recognised and celebrated at this year’s ‘Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards working with E.ON’ tomorrow (Thursday November 30).

The awards acknowledge Rushcliffe’s wonderful volunteers, businesses and environmentalists, clubs, organisations, and the best of its health and wellbeing and food and drink sectors and local enterprise.

Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) has welcomed E.ON as lead sponsors who are delighted to be part of the celebrations.

E.ON’s Strategic Funding Manager, Joel Stafford, said: “At E.ON, we’re committed to helping make homes across the nation more sustainable, and we’ve worked within Rushcliffe for several years doing just that.

“We’re supporting residents throughout the borough through our Green Funding Solutions project, where we’re helping local authorities, housing associations and charities access funding and deliver energy efficiency upgrades to properties in their area.

“We’ve also been working with local charity Nottingham Energy Partnership (NEP) to support residents to install energy efficient measures and offer further financial support including signposting to benefit entitlement checks.

“Supporting these awards demonstrates our wider commitment to Rushcliffe and its people and we wish all the shortlisted nominees the very best of luck.”

Over 30 groups and individuals have been shortlisted for this year’s accolades in an event at Rushcliffe Arena in West Bridgford following an incredible response and over 150 nominations putting forward their local heroes.

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Deputy Leader, Cllr Abby Brennan, said: “Huge congratulations to our shortlisted nominees, all of whom are contributing to Rushcliffe life in so many wonderful ways or leading by example in their chosen field.

“We really look forward to meeting these local heroes at the awards evening tomorrow and celebrating their achievements, it really is a one of the highlights of the year focussing on people who achieve and give so much.

“A big thank you to our lead sponsors E.ON for their support of the accolades and all they do in our communities.”
