The Mayor of Rushcliffe Cllr Andy Brown is inviting the community to join him and local dignitaries in observing a two minute silence to mark Armistice Day on Monday November 11.

All are welcome to attend the Remembrance event on Central Avenue in West Bridgford that starts shortly before 11am with a bugler playing The Last Post on the stroke of the hour and the two minute reflection.

Cllr Brown said: “This year as with every year it is so important that we pay our respects for our Armed Forces and their families, and remember all who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in serving their country, not just those lost in World Wars 1 and 2 but sadly in more recent conflicts.

“As we approach Armistice Day, residents and the local community are invited to join us for the two minute silence in West Bridgford to reflect and remember those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.

“Everyone is welcome to attend, please arrive in good time ahead of 11am.”
