Mechanic

Salary: £31,446 per annum (pro rata)

Closing Date: Sunday 13th April 2025 Midnight

Interview Date: Week commencing 14 April 2025

Hours: 16 hours per week

The Role

We are looking for a Mechanic to join the Council’s Streetwise team on a permanent basis to maintain and service the Streetwise fleet and machinery.

Key Responsibilities 

You will be reporting to the Street Scene Coordinator, and work as part of the Garage Team conducting various tasks to maintain and service the full Streetwise vehicle fleet, plant and machinery. 

Typical duties will include vehicle repairs, parts replacement, tyre checks, bulb fitting and oil top ups. Conducting regular servicing on handheld and plant machinery, recording services and completing any required repairs. Supporting the delivery of vehicles for further servicing and MOT inspections.

About You

A flexible approach to work is essential along with strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team as well as individually.

Applicants must have a full LGV Category C1 Commercial driving license, up to date DCPC and driver cards, with experience of driving a variety of different vehicles.
