Salary: £67,941 – £72,648 per annum

About the Borough
Rushcliffe is home to some iconic sporting venues including world famous Trent Bridge, we have a clear vision and we’re an ambitious and high performing council.
Lying immediately south of the River Trent in Nottinghamshire, home to Trent Bridge and encompassing 157 square miles and 55 parished settlements covering our towns and villages. Rushcliffe is home to the town of West Bridgford where our main Council offices are located in a modern purpose-built office and leisure centre facility – Rushcliffe Arena.
We’re now looking for an ambitious and aspirational leader in driving the Planning Service forward, delivering excellent services, with a motivated, high performing team.

How to apply
To be successful in this role, we will be looking for you to demonstrate the following experience, knowledge, and skills:
- Appropriate professional qualification or 5+ years of equivalent experience.
- A high-performing background in Planning or Planning Policy.
- Effective management and leadership of a group of staff in a direct service.
- Work across functional and organisational boundaries successfully delivering timely and high-quality outcomes.
- Set and promote professional standards.
- Manage resources effectively including allocated budget.
- Deliver effective performance and risk management of the whole service.
- Deliver continuous improvement of customer service, staff, and processes.
- Ability to provide expert advice to a variety of stakeholders.
- Working with people at all levels, consulting effectively and listening to others, developing, communicating and gaining ownership for a clear vision and direction.
- Confidently communicate in a public arena with a wide audience from Elected Members to members of the public.
